Meet Lucy, master wedding cake baker, idealistic school canteen crusader, and someone whose broken heart just won’t seem to mend… Lucy is quietly confident that she has made the right choices in life. Surrounded by friends and family in a small country town, Lucy can easily suppress the feeling that something is missing from her life. But when a blast from the past arrives in the form of her estranged husband, international celebrity chef Oliver Murray, Lucy’s carefully constructed life begins to crumble beneath her like overbaked meringue. Is Oliver’s return all business or is it motivated by something more? A Recipe for Disaster starts long after most love stories would have ended, proving it is never too late to offer someone a second slice of cake or a second chance. Perfect for fans of Carole Mathews, Mhairi McFarlane and Carrie Hope Fletcher.

Lucy is a baker and Oliver is a well-known top chef, who asks her to work in his new restaurant. She should be honoured and jump at the chance? However one complication is Lucy and Oliver are married and hadn't seen each other for three years.

Job-wise it is an amazing opportunity for both of them, but is it a good idea for them to work together? Things don't go to plan when they start to talk about the arrangements-is it likely to work? Lucy's woken up and realised she's worth so much more than what she was doing with her life. This is her opportunity to shine and make a name for herself. But she needs Oliver's help.

This is a will they won't they romance, which I love reading. However it is also so much more than that. It is a story of how Lucy was not going to be taken advantage of, how she finds her confidence and her passion for baking again.

I loved the description of the recipes-absolutely no good for my diet however wonderful to read about. I really enjoyed this book and am happy to recommend it and will look out for other books by the same author.
