I’ve been reading about rituals recently. As opposed to routines, rituals are carried out in a mindful, joyous way. They are a part of your day to look forward to, slow down and experience the simple pleasures. So when was shopping recently and saw a shop with the name Rituals, I was intrigued. This post is about how I went from feeling fatigued to re-energised and refreshed from my time in Rituals store, Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.
I absolutely loved reading the strap-line on the window:
“Rituals help you slow down, to find happiness in the smallest of things. It is our passion to take every day routines into more meaningful rituals.”
I was hooked. I couldn’t believe how in line it was with what I am currently working towards and Simply Shine values and key messages.
As I walked into the shop, I was greeted by an image of a woman relaxing. That and the soothing music had such an affect on me, I immediately felt relaxed. Out of the hustle and bustle of the busy shops and into the tranquil environment of Rituals.
I started looking around at the displays of products; all based on ancient Eastern home and beauty traditions. The perfumes and created by the finest Perfumers in the world and smelt amazing. The staff were helpful and not pushy at all. I was left to browse until I asked for some help.
At this point Asma was more than happy to oblige and helped me test a couple of the products, by the beautiful sink area. I was drawn towards the citrus scents; fresh and light scents that are uplifting and a perfect pick-me-up. How can I not love The Ritual of Happy Buddha. The body cream is called a Touch of Happiness-just the name makes me feel happy!
Asma explained the concept of the brand is to tune into all the senses, to relax, take time for you and enjoy a pamper. The store had mint tea you can help yourself to. I was then asked if I wanted a meditation. Wow-yes! Asma used some beautifully scented products on my temples and the back of my neck. Each time I was asked to take three deep breaths, which enhanced the experience of breathing in the smells and relaxing. It felt strange to say I felt relaxed and revitalised at the same time, but it was so true.
I left the shop with an over-whelming feeling of being pampered. I took time for me, which is just what I needed. There was no doubting the feeling of peace and harmony I felt. It is more than a store; it is a feel-good experience through a pamper and taking the time for you. All I ask-please open one near me!
Dear Tina, thank you very much for sharing such a beautiful blog and experience with us. Warmest wishes, Penny Grivea
